Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP $4.00 Media; 2-4 discs $5.00; .50 each additional disc Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   CANADA ~ 1 LP 8.50; 2 discs $10.00; 3 discs $11.50; over 4 please contact us for shipping costs.   AUSTRALIA, THAILAND, JAPAN ~ 1 LP $18.00; 2 discs $23.00; 3 discs $27.00; 4 discs $32.00. CLEAN...hard to find (advance release PROMOTIONAL) Original 1971 first pressing vinyl  in cool die (circle) cut gatefold cover...

The rare and probably best second album by American underground progressive hardrock group with  . seven tracks issued on the collected Metromedia Records label who brought you gems like "Christopher", "Quatrain" and other delights....

This album is the #2 follow-up LP by the excellent group, Gypsy. The band, from Minneapolis MN with a following in St. Louis area, was centered around an outstanding singer/guitarist/song-writer, Enrico Rosenbaum, guitarist/vocalist James Johnson, and keyboard/vocalist/composer James (Owl) Walsh. This trio went to LA in 1970 to stake out their musical fortunes and created beautiful melodies and vocal harmonies, and could really rock. Rosenbaum's vocals are reminiscent of Burton Cummings (The Guess Who), and the group harmonies like CSNY. This album has more vocal solos and instrumental solos, and less soaring harmonies than their double-album debut, called Gypsy. But the songs themselves are all outstanding. "Around You" (5:27) - fast paced, guitar and organ...and the extended jamming, tempo changes, dual-guitar soloing, great vocals in "As Far As You Can See" (12:07) .. "Here (in the Garden) part one" (6:43)...is slow paced, acoustic guitars, great vocals. "Here (in the Garden) part two" (3:07) has the signature soaring Gypsy vocal harmonies..."Blind Man" (3:59) A real hidden gem; beautiful mid-tempo vocal, acoustic guitar, solo electric guitar and organ, a great chorus. "Time Will Make It Better" (2:53) keys and vocal by James Walsh, a lovely tune. All songs were written by Enrico Rosenbaum, except the last by James Walsh. The group released two other albums, Antithesis (1972) and Unlock the Gates (1973) but the first two ("Gypsy" and "In the Garden") are clearly the strongest overall."

This music is underappreciated, both first and 2nd Lp's are must haves for U.S. prog-rock fans. Exquisite vocal harmonies, great guitar from Jim Johnson, and excellent lead vocals from Enrico and James Walsh. In addition, fine B3 organ and top flight drumming from Bill Lordan (later with Robin Trower). They had it all...except fame.

Take note, fans of US progrock, CSN&Y, Doors, Gun, Cream
