Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. MEGA-RARE ORIGINAL 1971 first pressing issued only on the German Philips label, smack in the middle of the labels KRAUTROCK scene releases, though somehow LOADSTONE fell through the cracks, remaining VERY rare and much lesser available, even back 45 years ago... So who are these guys? Well, they had a conceptual futuristic vision and unfold a concept in two epic sides as you'll read below :::
Lodestone was a short-lived British group, included members from various 60's Freakbeat/Pop Psych acts such as The Cymbaline, The Flies, Infinity, The In-sect and The Symbols.The line-up was Phil Chesterton on drums, John DaCosta on keyboards/guitar, John Hollis on vocals and Gerry Morris on bass/guitar.They recorded their only album ''Time flies'' a grand conceptual epic for Phillips Records at Sutton Sound Studio in West London, but for unknown reasons it was only issued in Germany and Switzerland in 1971.
Lodestone played a formidable blend of Pop/Psych/Prog coloring their early psychedelic influences with dominant arrangements and beautiful melodies, led by DaCosta's Hammond organ, the shifting guitars of DaCosta and Morris and the smooth rhythm section. Often performed with a sweet 60's atmosphere akin to early PINK FLOYD & late '60s Beatles meets early '70s Genesis & Caravan and the like of early '70s -classic- UK progressives.
Time Flies is a feature epic conceptual delivering plenty of progressive-drenched showerings throughout all the albums movements, with notable keyboards (Hammond/ Harpsichord) & guitar leads & textures. The album is quite an obscurity due to poor Philips promotion -- for many - even top collectors, the album went under the radar of knowing existence. The songwriting is pretty strong mix of psychedelic overtones and symphonic progressive directions and altogether pretty great and consistent. The vocals are pleasant ala early UK progressive blends and the music often tends to become intricate with some sort of clever breaks and injected sections often deploying sweeping backdrops of atmospheric Hammond organ gushes and swells. Overall highly rated and well-played throughout. Don't hold your breath waiting for the next copy - it's quite rare! Recommended to both UK psych & progressive fans....
