ROCK OF AGES TO US there's more to a hymn album than just going into a recording studio, singing a few songs, wrapping them up and selling them to the public. It takes weeks and sometimes months of planning as in the case of this album. First of all we realize there's a gospel message in every song that we must try our very best to get over to the listener. Therefore the words and music must have a good quality sound and we must find the right studio and recording engineer for this job. Second, the singers must be Christians so they can know and feel what they are singing about and by this they can put the Spirit of the Lord in every song which you the listener can feel when you hear it. Russell, James and Edd Easter and Ronald Thomas as the singers of this group are sure that you will find this album to be our very best. We are sure that you will enjoy the modern country sound of the steel guitar and the 5 string banjo as Russell Jr. Easter and Johnny Taylor team up together with "Take Your Burdens To The Altar/' "They Walked The Saviour Up Calvary" and other songs in this album. Little Roger Easter is playing the snare drum on this record and he also plays the big bass fiddle in some of our appearances. Most of the songs contained in this album are our own material that we will pass along to you as God gave them to us. Our many thanks to James E. Parcell of Roanoke, Virginia, who did a fine job of engineering this album and our prayer is that when you hear it you will feel the same warmth and love of the Spirit of God that we felt while recording it. You are cordially invited to write to us. EASTER BROS. and THE GREEN VALLEY QUARTET P.O. Box 1271 Mt. Airy, North Carolina
