Description

From a massive collection of an audiophiles estate, a nice selection this week across all genres of vinyl, as test pressings, still sealed best sounding pressings, loads of treats for the finest tables and high end systems. Note the penchant for great Concert recordings, as here.

1968 Pye Mono The Foundations: Rocking The Foundations. Pristine vinyl & playback on my mono cartridge.

A wonderful example of the first mixed race soul band in the Uk in concert, would have filled the hearts of mods with delight, that organ groove and soulful vocals, a far better listen than I was expecting, as I had found the singles a bit lukewarm for my tastes. This is the real thing, and as three members of this band go on to form Heatwave, and the saxophonist played in the Tubby Hayes band. That is amazing. Concert sound is very good, like a soundboard plus ambient miking to get some crowd feel. That creamy quality to the tenor of Trinidadian Clem Curtis is even more effective live than on the singles. The one instrumental is a full-on acid jazz take on Bacharach's The Look of Love, combining funky flute with the organ groove. The take of Edwin Starr's Stop Her On Sight is a beauty also.

This is probably the best condition example of this on ebay, bid now to secure it!.

Record in Near Mint condition, with clean labels with few spindle marks, excellent sleeve has two little sticker scars to the front filled in black so need looking for.

When we post this to you, it will be housed in a  hard card custom made new box.
