TOP COPY ... most essential rocker LP, pound for pound, READ WHY:
SCARCE and Original 1968 pressing in original cellophane wrapper, as issued by the legendary rockers original "SPECIALTY" label, here is the *best* LP in Little Richards long career, pressed from the master tapes direct from the vaults at Specialty Records
Despite its trendy title, "Grooviest 17 Original Hits!" was by far the best as well as the most complete collection of Little Richard's songs on an album, and was released in 1968. Up to that year, elsewhere, Little Richard, the screaming sassy pioneering rocker was paid to actually re-recorded his hits for off-beat labels like Vee-Jay, Modern, and OKeh. However, his original label, the label of all his historic hits, Specialty seems to have wanted an album with the word "original" in the title, emphasizing that they possessed the actual metal masters of the recorded hit versions. Taking 12 tracks from their vaults, Specialty added yet another five more tracks, among them "Ready Teddy," "Miss Ann," and "Ooh! My Soul," chart records they had never used on an album like this for the makings of a monster - the LP containing so must *fire-power* track after track leads to listener onslaught overkill ! . "The Girl Can't Help It" still didn't appear on a Little Richard overview, but Grooviest 17 Original Hits! was the single-vinyl LP of Little Richard songs that anyone ever needed to own. In other words, song for song, all killers and thrillers, made this (still rather seldom seen) album, his very best for fans to own and from the master recordings, Specialty Records made the other labels releases completely inferior.
