Description
*** 1967 Northern/Crossover Soul ***
Original and hard-to-find 1967 US original press.
Two great female led Soul tracks by this Washington D.C. group.
This group of Sisters originated with Lead Singer and middle Sister, “Ayana Harrell” known at the time as Ann, from Anacostia High School and 3 of her classmates, Paula Smith, Toren Ragsdale and Muriel Bronson. While she and older sibling Mildred Harrell, whom they call “Mia”, reined from Anacostia High School, AVIS graduated from Frank W. Ballou Sr. High in S.E. Washington D.C.
Nothing But Love Can Save Me is a top-notch dancer. Wish You Were Here With Me is a great but sad tune about missing a boyfriend who's over in Vietnam (with some nice guitar licks).
