CLEAN....Original 1965 RAINBOW Capitol FIRST pressing in glorious MONO of the classic BEATLES "Rubber Soul" LP ... includes the orignal printed Capitol inner sleeve to the pressing... just as released on December 6, 1965 in monophonic (the song mixes differ from the stereo issue and mono contains a bold punchy production = way different from the stereo) ...the RAINBOW Capitol label releases are espercially hard to find when most 46 year old pressings were played to death...original Beatles rainbow Capitol label pressings have gotten increasingly hard to find in clean condition, with supply and demand, considering the God-like popularity of the band...

"Rubber Soul" was a turning point in the Beatles progressions, and on into psychedelia that followed...
The lyrics represented a quantum leap in terms of thoughtfulness, maturity, and complex ambiguities. Musically, too, it was a substantial leap forward, with intricate folk-rock arrangements that reflected the increasing influence of Dylan and the Byrds. The group and George Martin were also beginning to expand the conventional instrumental parameters of the rock group, using a sitar on "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)," Greek-like guitar lines on "Michelle" and "Girl," fuzz bass on "Think for Yourself," and a piano made to sound like a harpsichord on the instrumental break of "In My Life." While John and Paul were beginning to carve separate songwriting identities at this point, the album is full of great tunes, from "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" and "Michelle" to "Girl," "You Won't See Me," "I'm Looking Through You," (a classic raver!) and "In My Life" (voted by the public as the best Beatles song - ever!). George Harrison was also developing into a fine songwriter with his two contributions, "Think for Yourself." By the way, the mentioned above "I'm Looking Through You" features varied elements, and is peppered with nasty fuzz bass, exotic sitar, cartoonishly sped-up piano that sounds like harpsichord.
All in all, the album reveals a creative scope and willingness to experiment so revolutionary it can now only be termed "Beatlesque."
Characteristically, they achieved a new musical sophistication and a greater thematic depth without sacrificing any of their pop appeal status...Though some might argue that the Beatles' unprecedented evolution from British Invasion pin-ups to pop music visionaries began with BEATLES FOR SALE, RUBBER SOUL is without a doubt the first album to definitively put the Fab Four in the running for Greatest Band Ever.

CONDITION: The cover looks great: M- bright and as colorful as it was in 1965 = has solid seams, vibrant colors, no bends, no writing ...
The vinyl is all glossy, VG++ to "EX"(excellent) has no more than little minor top surface scuffs, vastly clean, the deep groove pressing plays near excellent, enjoyable...with the only exception being about 4 revolutions of little low grade ticks (from pressing plant imperfection) in track "The Word" (minor audio, you have to listen closely to notice) ...the rest is spotless audio and... CLEAN RAINBOW CAPITOL LABELS...
