Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. SCARCE ...ORIGINAL 1965 very first album by the Standells...by far their hardest to find... in glorious MONO where the sound of the big beat grooves relive the mid 60's garage teen scene...
Even though they never sought out the image, the Standells are listed in most rock history books as the God Fathers of Garage Punk Rock. Perhaps it was because of their snarly, moody look or their vicious, burning sound. Perhaps it was the us - against - them lyrics found in their songs. Regardless, it's a label that they've learned to live with.
The Standells' pre-"Dirty Water" history is a little vague and confusing; they recorded a now scarce album (here) and singles for Liberty, MGM, and Vee Jay, appeared in the movie Get Yourself a College Girl, and did a lot of television work (most notably a well-remembered guest appearance on The Munsters, where they did a take on "I Want to Hold Your Hand"). There were flashes of gritty inspiration on early cuts like "Big Boss Man" and "Someday You'll Cry," but the group didn't really hit their stride until teaming up with producer Ed Cobb, formerly of the clean-cut vocal group the Four Preps. It was Cobb who wrote "Dirty Water"
For a true fan or collector of '60's garage/psych, 'In Person...' is a slice of nostalgic heaven. Eleven tracks that were recorded live in front of a late night crowd at the famous Sunset Strip Hollywood club "P.J.s" in 1964. The sound mix is superb .Remember,this was BEFORE "Dirty Water" came out, but the Standell's trademark keyboard/guitar riff can be heard on tracks like "Help Yourself","What Have I Got Of My Own",their take n the Beatles "You Can't Do That", "Bony Maronie" and their wailing "Louie Louie". Containing all four members, Dick Dodd on drums/vocals, Larry Tamblyn on organ, Gary Lane on bass and Tony Valentino on guitar.

CONDITION: The cover is amazingly still in the original factory shrink wrapper and MINT ... no split seams, no bends, no writing... TOP COPY of 46 year old teen scene garage album...
The vinyl is not quite in the mint condition as the cover BUT it plays excellent...all shiny sides have a few very light finger nail type scuff lines that amount to: no audible problems (visually VG++) ... play graded = excellent...has some marks around spindle holes
