This auction is for a rare 1964 box set. Winston Churchill His Memoirs and His Speeches From Armistice   To Victory 1918 to 1945 Rare 12 LP Set of Churchill Speeches with Booklet in Original Slip Case

 

This wonderful box set which was issued during Winston Churchill’s lifetime in 1964, has 12 LPs; a booklet that catalogues the speech for each LP; and the original slipcase.

 

Each of the LPs are housed in their own custom sleeve which bears the facsimile signature of Winston Churchill in white to the top right corner.  Each side of the LP bears a label featuring a photograph of Sir Winston Churchill and text in gilt.

All LPs have been visually checked and are found to be very clean  all the LPs are exceptionally clean, bright and shiny, with very little (if any wear) to the spindle holes, leading me to believe that they have not been played more than a few times and I think they are Near Mint.    All the laminated covers are in Very Good condition showing only very minor signs of wear.                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
The booklet which measures a little under 12 inches square has 58 numbered pages with wonderful illustrations throughout, including Sir Winston Churchill meeting the Queen and Queen Mother; President John F. Kennedy signing the proclamation which made Winston Churchill an Honorary Citizen of the United States of America; and many more.  This booklet provides the owner with details of all the LPs in this magnificent box set.  The book has come undone from the binding, but still in great shape.

“The exclusive material contained in these records and based on Winston S. Churchill’s ‘Memoirs of the Second World War’, was recorded by Sir Winston at his home during the period 1948-1949.    His broadcast statements – which have been reproduced, as far as technicalities allow, in full – were taken from radio transcriptions dating from 1933 to 1945.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The box has a  few bumps and nicks.   (refer to the pictures for better details) maificent rare period box set and will give the owner hours of enjoyment listening to this great leader and his speeches.
