Made by Columbia Record Productions in 1963

Encore Records Nos. 11, 12, 13, and 14

These are 9" records with a 2" center hole, made for the Seeburg Encore Phonograph and Seeburg 1000 Background Music System.  They play at 16? rpm.  Each record side contains approximately 31 minutes of music.   The records are mono but they can be played with a stereo elliptical stylus.  The Encore Library was introduced in 1963.  Encore records have a higher frequency response than standard Seeburg Background records; hence the wider groove pitch and shorter playing time.  These records sound every bit as good as standard mono LPs from the era.  The music in the Encore Library was all instrumental, but it was jazzier than the music in the other Seeburg libraries and it contained a lot of uncredited instrumental solos.  Movie themes of the day and songs associated with Sinatra and the "Rat Pack" featured prominently.  The Encore Library was promoted by Seeburg as "Foreground Music" and was meant to be listened to.  The Encore Phonograph was designed as a piece of furniture and was meant to be in view.  However, it only played these proprietary-formatted 16? rpm records and at roughly $700, it was a hard sell.  Hence, Encore records are rarer than the Basic, Mood, or Industrial records. 

All records have been play-graded.  They play beautifully with no skips.  All are in VG condition and all come in original glassine sleeves.  Records are sold AS IS and returns will not be accepted.  No reserve.
