A B. C. WEEKEND TELEVISION

'BIG NIGHT OUT'
Studio Souvenir Brochure ~ Programme
1963

                                   Please study

Souvenir brochure for the audience attending the
recording of ABC's BIG NIGHT OUT. This particular example
was owned by Bob Sharples, who was the musical
director, and band leader of the ABC Television Show Band
throughout this television series'.

Recorded a week in advance of the screening.

Undated, and apart from the season's compere duo
Mike and Bernie Winters being in attendance, no
specific acts are stated for the week's shows.

The weekend television schedule details do include
      'until July 27' + 'from August 3,
so it is more than likely for July, 1963.

Depicted on the front are "Some of the BIG NIGHT OUT stars"
that have appeared, are on the week in question, or forthcoming:
TERRY SCOTT, JILL DAY, BILLY DAINTY,
THE BEATLES, KING BROTHERS, PATSY ANN NOBLE
(later as 'Trisha')

Whilst within, scenes from: Armchair Chair, Wham!!,
Pathfinders To Venus, Comedy Bandbox, outside broadcast,

plus a good helping of Mike and Bernie!

Page 4 has shots from 'BEHIND THE SCENES IN THE STUDIO'.

I have three different examples from 1963.
This is the only one depicting The Beatles.. and Patsy.

Please note that each  was printed,
specifically for one show only, so do have variations

In Very Good, undamaged condition.
Light central fold, and some signs of 'handling' (by Bob of course!)

From the Robert Sharples' estate.

Any artifact at all pertaining to this series is very scarce indeed!
Please see the selection that I currently have on offer.

Please note that any external links kindly included here are for your guidance.
As many other sites who are copying and pasting or similar, there
will be important omissions... or erroneous information included!

===============

1913-1987

I have in my possession an interesting collection of ephemera that was
one-time the original owner's personal amass from his professional
career. Intimate artifacts are also included (ask). Robert Sharples,
bandleader, musical director, composer, etc, was better known as
Bob Sharples, and via Opportunity Knocks, as 'Uncle Bob'.

original TV credits board (not in this sale)

Being their Musical Consultant, he had a good relationship with
ABC Television, and as well as his 'outside' work, was involved
with many television productions. Hundreds in fact. After he died,
his then wife Christina took up with their close friend, the
controversial Hughie Green.  She passed away in 2013,
and it is then that these artifacts became available.
