Description
I found this 78 rpm Louis Armstrong classic record in my parents' basement. It comes in an original Decca paper sleeve that is in great condition. A visual inspection of both sides of the record shows some smudges and scuffs and what appear to be a couple of light scratches, along with the chips noted in the condition description and photos. I am not a record collector, and I do not have a 78 rpm turntable. But I played both sides of this record on 45 rpm in order to test it for playability. I did not hear any skips, and the larger chip did not affect the beginning of "C'est Si Bon." I did hear some crackling sounds at this speed, mostly at the very beginning, which I would assume would still be heard at the 78 rpm speed. But static seemed to be at a minimum.
I have read up on how to properly ship fragile 78 records, and I will be sure to use the cardboard sandwich/packing peanut method. Because of this, I am only selecting Priority Mail as an option, since Media Mail is subject to the possibility of being opened for inspection by the postal service and repackaged by them. I don't want to take the chance of someone not taking the proper care in repackaging this record in that event.
