Description

"NBC Symphony Orchestra" radio show transcription discs issued by The Armed Forces Radio Service.  One complete 55 minute radio broadcast on these two 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm discs.  These discs were issued to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare!

"NBC Symphony" radio program #52 from December 24, 1944 featuring the NBC Symphony Orchestra performing from Symphony Hall in New York City, conducted by Eugene Ormandy.  Announcer is Ben Grauer

Music includes:

1. "3 Movements Of The Symphonia In D Major For Double Orchestra" by Johann Sebastian Bach

2. "The Holy Family Resting By The Wayside" by Hector Berlioz featuring soloist Joseph Laderoute of The Metropolitan Opera

3. "Suite From The Firebird" in 6 movements by Igor Stravinsky
