Rare Okeh Race Records
Catalog c. 1925
1925 Okeh Race Records Catalog  aka "The Blue Book Of The Blues"
! ! ! we know how to pack and ship rare fragile items ! ! !
this is assumed to be an original 1925 catalog of "race" shellac 78rpm records released by Okeh Records and includes photographs of some of the artists as
well as full listings of what "race records" Okeh was offering for sale, including blues, dance records, instrumentals, talking records, spirituals, quartettes
and west Indian music. also includes what the label called a "complete alphabetical list of Okeh race records" and has separate listings of records by specific artists.
please see our multiple photos and separate description

we believe this to be an original printing, but it's being sold "as found" as we have never come across one of these before and also could not find another copy online to compare it to. what we can say is that it came from the estate of a rather serious long-term collector of pre-war 78rpm records. the collector is recently deceased and this came with the collection of records we purchased that also contained several other original 1920s record catalogs, in addition to other record related ephemera from the same time period and even earlier (this is the only specific race records catalog we have come across in the collection. we'll be listing the others separately in the coming weeks). we found no reproductions in the collection, so we have no reason to believe this is a reprint - but please use your own judgement after viewing our multiple photos, and feel to ask questions.

please see our multiple photos and detailed description below! this is what we believe to be an original printing of a c. 1925 catalog of Okeh Race Records (not a record itself, but a catalogue of 78rpm race records aka "The Blue Book Of The Blues" listing records from Okeh's 8000 series, etc. its front cover features a 'race' illustration, and the catalog includes 9 rare photographs of 1920s Okeh blues artists. it has 32 pages and measures approx. 5" x 7" and it's in Very Good condition and displays nicely, especially from the outside, but has been downgraded because some listings on some pages have check marks by them, likely from a previous owner marking 78s they had found and added to their collection of 78 rpm records. 13 pages have check marks, but the rest is fairly clean and has no serious issues - just very slight soiling in places and some light rust stains by the staples that bind it together. from the collection of an older recently deceased 78rpm collector / archivist. rare
