Offered is an important early recording of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue on the original Victor blue-label 78 RPM record, catalog no. 55225.
This historic recording features George Gershwin at the piano with Paul Whiteman and His Concert Orchestra.
This is ONE 78 RPM record with music on both sides:
- Side A – Victor 55225-A: Rhapsody in Blue – Part 1
- Side B – Victor 55225-B: Rhapsody in Blue – Part 2
A wonderful piece of American musical history and an especially appealing item for collectors of George Gershwin, Paul Whiteman, early jazz, classical recordings, Victor records, and American music history.
CONDITION
The record is in good vintage condition with a nice overall appearance. It has light scratches, scuffs and surface marks consistent with its age and previous use. The photographs show the actual record being offered and provide a good representation of its condition.
The photographs show both Side A and Side B of this ONE record.
I do not see any major crack or large chip in the photographs.
Because this is a vintage shellac 78 RPM record, some surface noise, clicks and/or crackling may be present during playback. Please review all photographs carefully before bidding.
