THE SUPREMES

LET MY HEART DO THE WALKING  B/W  HIGH ENERGY

DISCO QUEEN  8595 (ACETATE)

33 RPM

VG++

THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND ITEM - KILLER 5:47 REMIX VERSION OF ONE OF THE ALL TIME DANCE FLOOR CLASSICS! - RECORDED BY JOEL SILVER AND MIXED BY RICK GIANATOS - PLAYS CLEAN WITH LIGHT SURFACE NOISE, NOTHING THAT CAN'T BE FILTERED OUT IF YOU PLAN ON DUBBING TO CD - THE ACETATE LACQUER COATING IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, NO CRACKING OR LIFTING AND IS IN OVER ALL GREAT CONDITION FOR A 30+ YEAR OLD ACETATE

 All Disco Queen remixes were all edited on tape (using a reel to reel with a very good pause button). There were only acetates pressed and never a vinyl copy (with only one exception).  The remixes were pressed one at a time, to order, after initially making about 10 pieces to circulate to DJ's who would immediately wants everything on the label.  On some titles, as many as 150 to 200 acetates were produced and send to DJ's all over the USA.  They produced the discs on an "order one, cut one" basis. They never had any surplus. Cutting each dub was done in "real time".  Typically, the price was $10.00 for a disc [unless the dj receiving the disc was 'important' - then it was free]. Keeping in mind these records were made in extremely low quantity, there's no telling how many of each Disco Queen title existed when they were new, no less how many of each survived til today.  Needless to say, Disco Queen records, ESPECIALLY IN NICE CONDITION, are rare as hell!

WINNER MUST REQUEST SHIPPING INVOICE FOR TOTAL WITH SHIPPING ADDED WHEN AUCTION ENDS -  SHIPPING OF THIS ITEM MIGHT BE A BIT MORE THAN WHAT THE EBAY SHIPPING LIMIT ALLOWS - DUE TO THE FRAGILE AND DELICATE NATURE OF ACETATES, THIS WILL REQUIRE SPECIAL PACKING TO ENSURE IT ARRIVES INTACT

THIS IS OLD SCHOOL, BABY! THE WAY THE DJs DID THEIR MIXES AT THE CLUBS WITH RECORDS AND TURNTABLES BACK IN THE DAY, LONG BEFORE COMPACT DISCS, MP3 SOFTWARE AND COMPUTER EDITING! - GOOD LUCK BIDDING ON THIS ONE OF A KIND RARITY!  For the real collector and fan a MUST!   PLAYS GREAT! - Don't miss this one!

Grading is as follows:

I will never advertise something as Mint unless it has never been opened. I rarely use NM (near mint) unless it looks like it has never been taken out of the sleeve and played.

VG++; Great copy, any collector would be happy with. Very little to no wear on record, no real scratches, scuffs or marks. Plays almost like new.

VG+; Also a great copy but may have some markings on vinyl or label, may also have some slight noise. A great copy for collector's.

VG; Markings on vinyl or label, background noise.

VG-: Has seen a better day! but still plays with very noticable noise.

G: A demolished record, I will only use this rating if it is something extremely rare, scratches and may possibly have a skip.

All records sold whether new or used are sold as used, as most listed will be out of print for many years.  All records sold (unless sealed) have been played LOUD on a Garrard Type A70 turntable with Empire 888 cartridge and stylli.  Grading varies from one seller to the next as many are stricter in their grading than others.  I believe I represent the records I sell fairly,
