Description

The time to sell this gem as come and couldn’t be better - 2018 is the 50th anniversary of its release. Since you are here reading this description, probably you know how valuable this specific record is - one of the few ultra rare with the misprinted labels on disc 1, showing:

“SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS,

EE PRICE LISTS” on both sides.

NO RESERVE, BID WITH TOTAL CONFIDENCE - RETURNS ACCEPTED.

The visual and audio condition of the two records is amazing - strong mint. This is a once in a lifetime’s opportunity to have this record in this condition (in the remote possibility of you come across with another of this misprinted ones in the future).

This is the 1st STEREO EXPORT pressing, with the 1st Matrix variation, and RARE NUMBERED TOP OPENING LAMINATED Cover.

It comes complete with:

• Original UK Vinyls

• Original poster

• Original black inners

• Original four photo portraits of the individual members

• Original laminated numbered cover

This is not a bundle of several records, all the items are originals of this unit and are in stunning condition.

CATALOG NUMBER: Y&B Parlophone P-PCS 7067/8

This unit has the extremely rare misprinted labels on the disc 1.

This record is described at the reference website The Beatles Collection as: “Few copies has label error “Sold In UK …” (on the Record 1 only?). How many of these copies were made is not known.”

Please take a look at the link:

This classification also appears at the other reference website The Beatles Record Collection:

http://www.yokono.co.uk/collection/beatles/uk/guide_lp_export.html

This first press presents the top opening gatefold without the “Stereo” word on the back. These first gatefolds were common to the mono and stereo versions as could be seen on the spine:

The Beatles … Stereo PCS 7067/8…Mono PMC 7067/8

It also shows the Garrod and Lofthouse inside, after the credits text.

This is a Complete and UNIQUE pressing of this BEATLES masterpiece, that plays with TOP AUDIO.

RECORDS AUDIO GRADING - MINT

This record plays perfectly, with an incredible clear and strong sound. It had an easy life and was played very little for sure. The vinyls are profound black with an amazing light shine. The 2 records sound great - I dare to say - like new. No static or surface noise can be heard throughout. Superb sound only with some very light occasional click or a pop here and there just like the new records. Difficult to hear any noise even between the tracks.

RECORD 1 - VISUAL GRADING

Thick pressing with glossy vinyl. Deep clear grooves, only a very few light marks, no scratches. Only a few faint hairlines typical of a carefully handling. Pristine vinyl, mint condition. No signs of warping or other deformations.

The labels

As I said before, the labels of disc 1 are misprinted and no one knows how many of these records were made (please see the link I put above for the “The Beatles Collection” reference web site). The export versions never showed the sentence “SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS” once they were produced only a few copies of the first presses to send to foreign countries (this is also the reason for the rarity of these Parlophone for export versions). Regarding their visual condition, both sides of disc one show stunning well conserved labels, without any kind of marks. This misprinted labels obviously give this record an extremely high value.

RECORD 2 - VISUAL GRADING

Just like the first record. A few faint handling marks, no scratches - mint condition.

The labels

As record 1, the labels of record 2 are in almost perfect condition. These labels don’t show the misprinted sentence as the record 1. Both grades mint, naturally.

THE COVER

Exterior:

Excellent+ / Near Mint condition

Original top loading numbered gatefold sleeve produced by Garrod & Lofthouse. Fully laminated with “The Beatles” embossed on the front and the number N.0198859. Just a few handling marks. Great condition with little wear even at the corners. Small tear on back cover (2,5 cm at the top - barely visible). The lamination is almost perfect except at the spine where it has a few light cracks - please take a careful look at the photos. All spines are good without tears or noticeable wear. No restorations, arrangements or ironing :) Real photos, not retouched - looks better in person.

Interior:

Excellent+ / Near Mint condition

The lamination at the interior is excellent with only a few faint marks and an extremely light sign of handwriting creases on top left corner (one line of characters 6 cm long - not visible. Misses 1 cm of lamination on the top left corner (please take a look to the detailed photo). The photos of the group members remain strong and clean, as the credits text. It maintains a uniform beige white sheen and light wear at the corners or top openings. Real photos, not retouched - looks better in person.

Please notice that I used professional equipment to take the photos. Some of them has light conditions adapted to show the maximum details. I also used a macro lens to take the photos of the spine and matrix numbers (for example) - in these photos you can see enlarged details not visible in person.

THE BLACK INNER SLEEVES

Very hard to find in original condition, and not replaced by late replicas, which are significantly different. Made out of very thin paper these Original BLACK  inner sleeves are in EXCELLENT condition. A great set. No seem splits, just lightly creased. NO  tears to the die cut centres and NO tears to the top opening edges.  These incredibly delicate inner sleeves were usually destroyed and are often passed off with replacement replica inners, which are obviously different in form.

THE POSTER

Large original 1st press Lip Stick PHOTO-MONTAGE and LYRIC SHEET, 57 x 87 cm in MINT condition. This great example comes with NO tears or splits, no wear on the edges. No writing, no pin-holes, no glue or sellotape marks. A superb original example.

THE PORTRAIT PRINTS

Comes with all Four ORIGINAL Photo Prints which are in MINT condition. All Four Prints, 20 x 29 cm, on the original Thick Card. - No tears, no writing, no pin-holes, no glue or sellotape marks. A great and rare original set, not replacements.
