Description

TULLY

ORIGINAL AUSTRALIAN LP

Rare OZ LP released in 1972 on Harvest Records.  "Four of Tully's members (Colin Campbell, Ken Firth, Shayna Karlin & Richard Lockwood) were involved in a splinter folk group called Extradition(Now an incredibly rare & collectable folk LP), and the band suffered from line-up instabilities. In late 1971 they finally disintergrated and Richard Lockwood joined Tamam Shud. Ken Firth later re-emerged in a pop group called the ferrets. Michael carlos went on to become a composer and arranger of some standing. Their final album Loving is Hard was released after they'd split up. It's arguably their magnum opus, full of luscious melodies, long piano pieces & great organ & flute work. The lengthy but emotive Ice is a definite highlight (A version can also be heard on the Extradition album). As 'Freedom train' described it, along with the title cut, This Tree & Love can make you, Ice represented the progressive spectrum of the album, which also spanned folk influences on Sunshine blues again & Song for Shayna, whilst Poco A poco exhibited more classical influences."-as quoted from Vernon Joynson's book Dreams, Fantasies & Nightmares

SIDE 1 - love can make you, loving is hard, song for shayna, the real you, poco a' poco

SIDE 2 - ice, rest beloved, sunshine blues again, this tree
