  THE BEATLES

Introducing...

Vee Jay 1062 RARE '63 STEREO press. OK....First Off. I apologize to all of you who were watching the first auction of this LP which I ended an hour ago. After receiving a couple of "expert" emails, it was determined that the cover, while very good, was indeed a counterfeit.  So, I went through my box of spare BEATLES LP covers, and mixed among the numerous obvious counterfeits of this cover I DID FIND that I have an original STEREO cover. It's no where near as nice as the one I originally listed, but I'm told by the people who contacted me that the number of original STEREO covers that have been deemed authentic are in the double digits!!! Why this version of "Introducing" is so rare I haven't a clue.  Perhaps VeeJay ran out of STEREO covers and just put the STEREO LPs in MONO covers towards the end of the run. So, between studying the various "expert" BEATLES archive sites on the providence of this LP, utilizing both "rarebeatles" and "Fab4collectibles" PLUS the info from the 2 watchers,I'm 100% positive this is an authentic STEREO press. All the criteria mentioned by these folks are here:
FRONT COVER: Glossy photo is darker and crisper than the counterfeit. George's shadow is on the right.
BACK COVER: Glossy paper. Vertical black bar to left of side 1 titles is sharp; no ink bleed on edge. The E in "HONEY" is complete, not missing a bit along the top edge. The inside s of the cover seams each have a 1/4" fold over flap.
VINYL: Vee Jay logo in oval on label, "STEREO" at 12 o'clock, Long Playing and Microgroove at 9 and 3 o'clock respectively, deep groove circled in label, 1 inch runoff space both sides. Outer colorband changes colors smoothly.  Italics "ARP" stamped in runoffs. Very faint "6-28-63" etched and very faint "63-3402S" etched in both runoffs.

AS A BONUS, I WILL INCLUDE THE COUNTERFEIT COVER WITH THE ORIGINAL TO THE WINNER

Jacket Grade:   VG to VG+ Some wear and ring to cover art. Light staining along top back seam and spine edge. Small initials "KD" written over catalog number on front. Spine is still legible. No splits

Vinyl Grade: VG+ Little to no visible play wear. A few light sleeve and hairline surface marks. Glossy vinyl. No deep scratches. Nice copy

On Nov-30-18 at 10:26:11 PST, seller added the following information:

One of the 2 gentlemen who had pointed out to me that the first cover I listed was a counterfeit and explained why, has looked at the cover listed now and here is his comment:

"Just looked at it. Congratulations. It's real. Only 15% or less were ever produced in stereo because everyone had mono record players in 1964.
They started with the ad back, went to the blank back and by the time they started the column back they had to change the two songs on the back cover and vinyl."
