S – Sealed                    Record never opened / Still sealed by manufacturer

M – Mint                        Vinyl as new / Cover as new

NM – Near Mint              Almost mint but with one or two very minor surface marks on the vinyl. 

                                   The vinyl should show no obvious signs of wear.

                                   The cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable

                                   similar defects.

EX – Excellent               Vinyl may have some slight marks, but has little or no affect on sound.

                                   Cover has very slight wear or creasing, also slight ring impression and or 

                                   slight ring wear.

VG – Very Good                        Vinyl has some scuffing but surface noise is minimal.

                                   Cover may have ring wear / ring impression, discoloration or creases.

G – Good                      Vinyl could have slight scratches / scuffing and noticeable surface noise.

                                   Cover may have ring wear, scuffed edges, creases, small tears, seam splits etc.

P – Poor                                   Record has many noticeable marks- scratches, scuffing, dints etc.

                                   Surface noise is extremely noticeable and play is affected.
