Description
The essential Miles Davis album.
Cover is shelf worn with some writing on it, used price sticker residue and slight tearing in the corners. It is strong and intact though.
LP is a vintage Columbia two eye on nice thick vinyl. In a paper Reprise record sleeve. Shows scuffs and some marks, this is far from mint. G+ to VG- for the relative visual inspection. I purchased this used ages ago and cared for it well, but it was not in great shape when I bought it. I had not played it in years but did give side 1 a spin to evaluate for this listing. It does have a fair amount of surface noise, with ticks and pops and scratches here and there. When the music gets going and is loud it is not that intrusive, but if you worry about that sort of thing it could drive you nuts. But oh that music, and oh that sound quality! The bass is superb (and I mean the sound of the instrument, not just the low frequencies) and when that sax wails it is enough to bring a tear to the eye. When the music gets quiet, like towards the end of side 1, the noise can be intrusive though.
Now, the better your playback deck the less intrusive this noise will be...I played this back on a VPI Mk III with Rega arm and Sumiko cartridge properly set up.
