Description

David Bowie - In Person

Blue vinyl 12" LP

TMOQ 71054

SONGS: ODE TO JOY / HANG ON TO YOURSELF / ZIGGY STARDUST / CHANGES / THE SUPERMEN / LIFE ON MARS? / FIVE YEARS / SPACE ODDITY / ANDY WARHOL / MY DEATH.

COMMENTS: The discs IN PERSON and IN AMERICA (1974) were the first discs with the "cut" version of the Santa Monica Broadcast, which means without the DJ's comments. The sound quality on all the 'Trade Mark Of Quality' issues is excellent, and superior to ZIGGY IN CONCERT (1973). Five different versions are to be found, plus some obscure ones (probably home-made) as well. At least TMQ released the following issues: The first and original discs came in a so called TMQ Production cover, and they all have labels with the songs listed on one side and the TMQ pig on the other. The discs came in both black and coloured vinyl. The second issue came in a rubber stamped front side with a TMQ sticker, the back side had an insert, all discs were pressed on coloured vinyl and they have the TMQ labels without song lists. Third issue came in an identical cover to the second issue, but all the discs are on black vinyl but with the same kind of labels as on the first original issue. The fourth issue has the insert on the front side of the cover, and all the discs are on black vinyl with plain labels stating side one and two. The fifth and probably the final issue has an extra number hand written on the insert: S-407, and the labels are the same as on the fourth issue. I hope I have covered all the issues from TMQ, but since it is a long time ago the discs were released, I could have missed some combination? I know that people have mixed different pressings with different covers, and at the end it's impossible to remember what's genuine and what's not. The odd insert that you find among the IN PERSON pictures, is absolutely an home-made insert put together with one of the TMQ issues.

Disc, Label & Sleeve ratings below are obviously subjective, but if you have any doubts or questions, please ask before bidding - I will normally respond to all questions within 24 hours. All vinyl is visually rated & therefore unplayed:

WOL - Writing or Ink on Label / WOS - Writing or Ink on Sleeve / TOS - Tape or Sticker / Glue Marks on Sleeve / Label (TOL)

Mint - Record & sleeve in brand new condition with no marks

Excellent - Record shows some signs of having been played. Vinyl may have very light scratches or markings. Cover & packaging might have slight wear &/or creasing / minor seam splits

Very Good - Record has obviously been played many times with noticeable surface marks. Cover & packaging may have more obvious defects / damage such as seam splits / heavy creases etc.
