DAVID BOWIE

ALADDIN SANE

AUTOGRAPHED

UK TEST PRESSING

ONE OF THE FIRST
EVER PRESSED

This as you can see is a MAGNIFICENT UNITED KINGDOM TEST PRESSING of David Bowie`s 1973 MASTERPIECE featuring his second character.

ALADDIN SANE. WHERE DO I START ? Look at it......

There is just something bewildering about certain things. WHAT AN LP . The memories.....Sunday mornings I would be cooking breakfast

for the wife and our 2 kids. So to introduce them into FINE MUSIC.

I would always play a Bowie Classic LP . I figured once they understand Bowie`s work, that will give them a great reference point by which to measure any one else`s career. So by now I had schooled them into great music, ARMED WITH EVERYTHING THEY HAD LEARNED FROM DAVID BOWIE they are now free to go and find their own musical tastes . So I am doing the breakfast and Bowie is belting out Time from this very TEST PRESSING . I used to look at my kids without them knowing and watch em laughing as David sang that naughty word in Time.... Isn`t that what great music is all about ? Taking you places. That track takes me right back to Sunny Sundays when the kids were young . Can you imagine the millions of people with similar memories just like this, from the work of this great English Gentleman and Artist. And he will continue to affect us in this great and personal way.

THE GUY IS A GENIUS.

As you can see an added Bonus is the cover has been signed by the great man himself. It is also in lovely condition. The thick weighty slab of UNITED KINGDOM RCA VINYL is BEAUTIFUL. It has a deep and mirror like sheen that proves an extreme lack of play. Or at least very caring and lovingly careful play. EITHER WAY. IT IS A REAL STUNNER. TEST PRESSINGS are the first run of vinyl after the record has been recorded to acetate. They are made so the band, artist and producers can actually here what the new LP will sound like on vinyl.

In a very similar way to an acetate they are also made of more concentrated blend of Shellac to the normal shop vinyl. So they actually sound better. They are very costly to manufacture so are made in tiny numbers.

So RARE is just not enough words to describe how hard to find GENUINE FIRST ORIGINAL TEST PRESSINGS . THERE ARE NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE.

They NEVER appear for sale because just like the ones I have recently sold . AND THIS ONE RIGHT HERE ! They are stored tucked away and TREASURED in some of the best DAVID BOWIE collections IN THE WORLD ! So an opportunity to grab one , like this opportunity is EXCRUCIATINGLY RARE!!!

WHAT A BEAUTY !

It plays FLAWLESSLY.

ALL THE WAY. THE MUSIC IS LOUD BOLD AND CRYSTAL CLEAR.

In all my life I have only ever seen 2 other copies of this .

On 19-Mar-16 at 21:45:49 GMT, seller added the following information:

Hi Paul.

Great question. Unfortunately I cant help as this was signed when I got it about 15 years ago. I have so much stuff

and your memory lets you down. I'm guessing there will be a website to date this...You may remember a few years ago I sold

2 letters penned by David Bowie one from 72 one from 73 ...Back then he was still singing the full DAVID BOWIE with additives like

Luv On ya or Luv n stuff ....So we know its a lot later than that. I think it was around 1979 that he decided to drop the WIE and just sign

BO .  I cant make out the word under the BO I thought it was 80 referring to the year but your guess is probably better than mine.

Try a website there is probably one that can date it....Hope that helped.

And yes your right. Its not easy selling these old friends however much they sell for .To build this collection has taken lots of money.

A lot of family arguing (her indoors) (me spending money we had NOT YET EVEN EARNED) .My kids and parents giving me birthday

and Christmas money .....It hurts. Each record I sell takes a part of my soul with it.....I truly love these items .

Sorry I went on a bit but you did ask.

Thanks for a great question.
