Description
this is for a copy of the canadian zine "amazezine" issue #4 which features a split 7" featuring tracks by godspeed you black emperor! and fly pan am. both tracks are exclusive to this release - GYBE! presents "sunshine + gasoline" and fly pan am presents "l'espace au sol est redessine par d'immenses panneaux bleus". the 7" is on white vinyl.
this zine (and more importantly, 7") was limited to 550 copies and each are individually numbered - this copy is number 108. while this was released near the dawn of GYBE's recording career, the copies still quickly sold out. amazezine later went on to make a second printing of the magazine and 7" but they were very clearly distinguished from the first printing - they were pressed on black vinyl and numbered sequentially over 550 (example - "650/550"). i've seen the black vinyl copies pop on on ebay from time to time in the past but i don't ever recall seeing one of these white vinyl first pressing copies up here ever before. not trying to really hype this up, but i feel that these first pressing copies are truly quite difficult to obtain (actually, all copies probably are now), especially considering it's a record out of such a small edition for such a popular band. needless to say, this item is out of print and the track has not been re-released in any other fashion as of this listing.
the zine itself contains several record reviews and feature-length articles. there are lengthy interviews with both godspeed you black emperor! and stereolab. a worthy read.
i don't mind stating what the reserve on this auction is - it is $30US.
i purchased this from GYBE on their merchandise table on tour in the fall of 1998 and the 7" has been played probably twice since then. the zine and record are both in excellent shape. winner will pay by paypal, money order on concealed cash and include $5.00 for domestic priority mail shipping in an LP box so as to insure the safety of the item in transit. prices for shipping vary to non-US locales.
