Description

The Smiths COLOR>

"A Nice Bit of Meat" vinyl LP COLOR> This is a near mint copy of this extremely rare collection of 1983-1986 Smiths rarities!

This is an excellent mish-mash of songs from various sources which includes two songs from The Tube ("Panic" and "Sheila Take a Bow"), two previously unreleased studio mixes ("How Soon is Now?" and "Reel Around the Fountain"), live performances ("Barbarism Begins at Home", "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want", "What Do You See in Her?" [an early version of "Wonderful Woman"], and "This Night Has Openede My Eyes") and rare soundcheck material ("Purple Haze", "Asleep", and "Unloveable"). Although the sound quality varies from poor to very good, the album is well worth the price due to the rarity of the material. The highlights are definately the soundcheck songs, which The Smiths never performed in concert; also, Pete Burns guesting on the Royal Albert Hall version of "Barbarism Begins at Home"; and the poignant version of "This Night Has Opened My Eyes," culled from the Brixton concert on December 12, 1986 - the last British concert the band ever played.
