Description
Collectors will know of this record and of its Led Zeppelin connections. This record represents a rare Jimmy Page side-project. Released in August 1965, Jimmy Page at the time was the house producer at Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate label.
The 'A' side - 'The Bells Of Rhymney' - was produced by Jimmy Page, while he wrote and produced the 'B' side - 'Just Like Anyone Would Do'.
The Fifth Avenue comprised Denver Gerrard and Kenny Rowe. Both had later successful careers. This single never charted despite Page's great guitar contributions to both sides of the single. The record has been classified as 'lively electric folk-based rock'. Whatever the style, this is rare record that Zeppelin collectors seek out.
Here is a very nice copy. I have just played both sides to confirm that it can be graded VG+. No clicks or pops, it sounds really good. The labels are clean - very minor spindle wear on side 'A'. Comes in a company sleeve that is VG.
