Original very early circa May~September 1967 1st US Capitol Records Stereo issue factory sealed copy of The Beatles “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” released on May 26th, 1967. 1st gatefold cover variation without the “© NEMS ENTERPRISES LTD., 1967” and “MACLEN MUSIC” publishing credit print on the back. Incredible example of the 1st US pressing of the legendary album in a factory sealed condition. It’s most likely this copy was pressed at the Capitol Records, Los Angeles plant because it was acquired at the time at one of the “Fedco” stores in the Los Angeles area with the “Fedco” sticker still being affixed to the top right corner of the front cover. It’s most likely, considering that this is a very early pressing Side 1 of these 1st run labels contains a misprint indicating the “With A Little Help From My Friends” track as “A Little Help From My Friend”. The album is in outstanding Mint condition with the fully intact shrink wrap having two breathe holes on the front cover. Almost at the same time when the album came out Hansen Publications, Inc. released a “Sgt. Pepper’s LHCB” 40-page songbook which was equipped not only with the notes and lyrics of the album’s songs but also a large color portrait of each Beatle, which we’ve included into this listing. The insane popularity of the band at that time left the majority of these songbooks without the portraits. The currently listed songbook has all of the pages intact, including these rare portraits of Paul, John, George and Ringo.
