Up for an auction is the original 1st US Stereo issue of The Beatles’ 1st album released in the US, “Introducing…The Beatles” on January 10th, 1964. It’s incredible but this copy still remains in the Mint Minus factory sealed condition. Original 1st print Mono cover contains an incredibly rare gold-foil sticker with a double oval Stereo logo in the lower left-hand corner underneath the shrink wrap. The “Introducing…The Beatles” album isn’t the only Vee-Jay release where this rare gold-foil sticker can be seen, but unlike the other VJ issues where the sticker was affixed to the top of the cover and wrapped around the spine, on the “Introducing… the Beatles” album it was affixed to the front cover. Most likely, it can be explained by the fact that the top of the cover’s spine contains the Vee-Jay credits. This factory sealed copy is Version 2 of this album which was released after Vee-Jay decided to circumvent the restraining order and quickly reconfigured “Introducing... The Beatles” removing the "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You" tracks and replacing them with the previously omitted "Ask Me Why" and "Please Please Me". Original 1st print Mono cover, besides the gold-foil sticker, contains the original “Lyon-Healy” price sticker in the upper right-hand corner on the front as well as the store’s price tag in the upper-right hand corner of the back cover affixed to the shrink wrap. Lyon & Healy Harps, Inc. is a musical instrument manufacturer that had its chain of retail stores up until the late 1970s when Steinway & Sons, which was then owned by CBS, acquired the company closing all of their retail locations.
★
Outstanding factory sealed copy in Mint Minus condition with just some very light dings to the top right and left corners. The shrink wrap contains two original breathe holes at the top of the front cover remaining fully intact and doesn't have any tears, splits or missing pieces.
