IN THIS AUCTION: 

·       “COLLECTORS ITEMS” by THE BEATLES

·       This LP was designated to be Capitol Records SPRO-9463.

·       The 1st pressing had the catalogue number SPRO-9462 and 1000 copies were issued.

·       The record in this auction is the 2nd pressing, issued in December, 1979, that replaced the true stereo version of “I’m Down” with “Paperback Writer” on Side 1.

·       Reportedly, only 2000 copies of this 2nd pressing were issued.

·       A 3rd pressing of this LP was issued in 1982 in a numbered, limited edition of 50 copies pressed on blue vinyl.

·       These days, ANY of the versions are very difficult to find! 

·       This LP is identical in concept to the “Rarities” LP, but it was issued several months prior to the official release of “Rarities”.

·       This limited edition sixteen-track record gained quite a favorable reputation among collectors for its well-conceived sleeve design and graphics. The back of the jacket offered concise liner notes on the origin of each track along with black and white photos of all the Beatles' previous Capitol LPs. 

·       It is interesting to note that both “Collector's Items” and “Rarities” contained footnotes regarding the slightly inferior sound quality of the first track, “Love Me Do” (version 1), and both LPs included composite versions of “Penny Lane” and “I Am The Walrus”.

·       This LP has purple Capitol Records labels designating it as a PROMOTIONAL ISSUE. 

·       It comes with a purple Capitol Records (Canada) inner sleeve.

·       The COVER is in VG+ CONDITION. There is some light edge wear and corner wear. There are small corner pushes on 2 corners and a bit larger corner push on 1 corner (top right). The rear cover is nice and clean aside from normal aging. 

·       The VINYL is NEAR MINT!!!

·       A nice HARD-TO-FIND BEATLES LP for YOUR vinyl collection if you are the high bidder!
