The Beatles She's a Woman 1-sided White label Test Press Not for sale 45

Here we have a very rare original White Label 45 with Not For Sale on it!

It's a one sided single with She's a Woman on one side and a test tone on the other.

If you look at the photo's you will see that this is in very good condition with lovely labels and no evident scratches.

I have always had one eye open for white labels that came on to the market and eBay, and I've waited and waited and waited but no, these are very very thin on the ground and it doesn't matter how much money you have, these rarely surface for sale so are a bugger to collect any sizable amount. With probably 3 or 4 copies or even only one copy made at the time, these were meant to be filled away or destroyed after evaluation of the sound on this disc (transfer to master).

Looking at the disc, it has a R stamped on the run off as well as the release matrix number for the B side of the I Feel Fine / She's a Woman single. This is also written as part of the matrix or catalogue number on the label. Who other than the engineer would write that on the label? The first thing written by anyone who had this would probably be the Beatles and the song She's a Woman, but no (luckily) it has been left blank and is the same as it first was in 1964. Perhaps this R means Reverse, as in Reverse side or side b?

Shame I never found the A side, I could have answered that question for you..

They have also corrected the 1 to a 2 on the no.written on the label, which would have been correct for the other side.

Time to sell on.

Please see my other auction past and present. Thankyou

I am and have always considered myself a Beatlefreak and collector. I am not a dealer, but have many treasures I've collected over the years that I have now decided to part with.
