Test Pressing – FURTWANGLER / BERLIN P.O. – BRAHMS: SYMPHONY No.3
2 single-sided HMV white label test pressings made in England – no indication of catalogue number. Label states "Berlin 18.12.49" (see photos). Matrix Nos. 2XRA 40-2N / 2XRA 41-1N. The original (scruffy) inner is date stamped 25 AUG 1958. Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in Symphony No.3 by Brahms.
There are no visible marks on the discs; one side has faint spindle marks indicating that it may have been played. We have not played either side.
