The Velvet Underground 1967 Verve DJ Sample Promotional Cover

This is an incredibly rare promotional cover of the West Coast white label release. I purchased this cover from a former DJ that worked for a local radio station in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, from what he told me he wasn't able to locate the vinyl. Therefore, I've equipped this cover with a commercial West Coast vinyl. The promotional cover is in amazing Near Mint Minus condition and has an unpeeled beautifully preserved Andy Warhol banana sticker. At the bottom part of the banana sticker there is a super rare "D.J. SAMPLES PROMOTIONAL COPIES" sticker, which is slightly overlapping with the banana sticker. This white rectangular sticker can be found only on the West Coast "Not For Sale" white label promotional pressing copies. Cardboard gatefold 1st State Uncensored "Torso" cover with the upside-down image of Eric Emerson, which was projected on the wall behind the band while they were performing at the Exploding Plastic Inevitable event. Only a small amount of these uncensored covers went on sale before Emerson threatened with a lawsuit and MGM had to withdraw the cover and censored Emerson's image with a black sticker, and subsequently airbrushed the image. The super clean cover doesn't have any ring wear, splits, cut-outs, indentation marks, soiling or writing. The spine has a very light, almost unnoticeable, age yellowing and some light corner scuffing. The record contains a Verve inner sleeve with red "The Jazz of America is on Verve" print in Near Mint Minus. 1st print Mono cover has the V-5008 catalog number at the bottom left of the back cover and spine, which has a fully readable text. 1st print deep groove blue Verve misprint labels with silver print and the Mono V/5008 catalog number. The timing for "I'll Be Your Mirror" and "Black Angel's Death Song" is indicated as 2:01 and 3:01, as oppose to the correct one, 2:10 and 3:10. The timing misprint of both tracks can be found only on the West Coast copy as the East Coast copy has only one misprint. Very early West Coast Burbank, California Plant pressing is somewhere between the conservative Very Good and Very Good Plus, having  condition with the 1st matrix numbers: Side 1 - V-5008-S-1 MG-558-REV; Side 2 - V-5008-S-2 MG-559. The first thing that impresses you when playing the record is the fantastic, vivid and warm Mono analog sound. It's one of the copies where "Venus in Furs" wins from being the Mono mix, especially when it comes to the bass. It's also one of those rare copies where in the first verse when Lou Reed sings "Comes in bells, your servant, don't foresake him" the volume is suddenly increased as if someone accidentally increased the signal using the master fader. The vinyl sounds great overall with some light background noise and a couple of pops, which are perhaps caused by the static and perhaps will disappear after a thorough cleaning.
