Description
THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO VERVE V-5008 DISC JOCKEY PROMOTIONAL RECORD NOT FOR SALE YELLOW LABELS
COVER - EXCELLENT (EX)
VINYL - STRONG VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+++)
This promotional copy of The Velvet Underground & Nico is considered to be extraordinarily rare. It was pressed on the east coast in Bloomingfield, New Jersey. The yellow promotional Verve Records labels contain a "Disc Jockey Record Not For Sale" text and 1.25" pressing ring. These promotional copies were shipped to radio stations significantly earlier than the commercial release came out. Therefore, this copy can be called a pre-release and it's a very early 1st press. The gatefold cover is in great shape, super clean, without any ring wear. Very clean cover without any wear, tears, missing pieces or any other damage. The gatefold interior has been beautifully preserved without any soiling, splitting along the middle seam, yellow age spots or writing. The cover has only some light occasional edge and corner wear. The 1st state cover, containing an Andy Warhol's banana sticker, completely unpeeled. The uncensored back cover with a fully visible flipped image of the journalist Eric Emerson. Extraordinarily rare promotional DJ Mono copy, which is impossible to find in such a great condition with an unpeeled banana sticker and 1st state uncensored cover. I grade the vinyl conservatively as Strong Very Good Plus as it has a few super light hairlines and scuffs with beautiful vibrant yellow labels, only having some light spindle marks. I am sure many sellers would grade the vinyl as Excellent Minus.
