THE FELICITY
DON HENLEY garage band days
In the days before the Eagles, Don Henley knocked around in several garage bands in Texas. One of the most fully realized of all of them was this group: Felicity. The group was based out of Texarkana and they cut this one in 1967 pairing up Henley’s song “I’ll Try It” with Richard Bowden’s tune “Hurtin’” After they got out of North Texas State, Bowden and Henley moved to Los Angeles and hung around for a few years playing with Linda Ronstadt, and putting together a new group called Shilo. This single is right at the end of the garage band days. It’s a few years after the Four Speeds and the Speeds, but two years before Shilo, and a bit more before the Eagles. A great, rockin’ rare track from Texas.
