In 1977 Capitol Records, while planning the release of The Beatles Love Songs LP, decided to also produce single number 4506, Girl/ You're Going To Lose That Girl. Tens of thousands of picture sleeves were printed, as well as labels for the proposed single. When the project was scrapped, many of the sleeves were sold to a group of West Coast collectors, who sold as many of them as possible. The label's also left the Capitol plant.
Capitol, at the same time, printed an extremely few copies of a promo single, PRO-4506, Girl/ Girl, mono/ stereo, in black vinyl, with gripper ridges around the labels. Eventually the entire project was dropped.
This record has become known as one of the rarest of the Beatles Capitol singles
Eventually the stampers to the proposed single were stolen from Capitol, and a bootlegger began producing clear, red, yellow and black vinyl copies of a single, which became Girl  b/w You're going To Lose That Girl, a bootleg record, seen at times for sale on the market. They were however, unable to reproduce the "gripper ridges" on the record.
What I have for sale here is a guaranteed authentic original Girl/ Girl 4506 Promo Only black vinyl copy, with the gripper ridges, in MINT condition. "Mastered By Capitol" is stamped in the trail off area. It is stunning with no flaws, and has been in my possession for nearly 40 years. I am also including a MINT copy of the unreleased Capitol picture sleeve. There is no wear whatsoever to either piece. These are actual scans of the item in hand. Good Luck and bid accordingly.
