A very rare original mixed media pencil ink/ oil watercolour painting illustration for the 1970s Dean Martin Swing Down Yonder LP Album cover by the Known Artist Michael Grimsdale

Michael Grimsdale was commissioned to do the Album covers for a number of artist including Elvis Presley

The artwork is original and very rare painted in ink and oil on card and mounted in its original frame

Measures 52cm

In nice used condition as the backing frame has become loose, this artwork is unsigned but the other 2 painting are signed

Michael Grimsdale was born in London in 1936.  He was brought up in an Army family in Hong Kong, Singapore and South Africa.  He was educated at Cheltenham College, RMA Sandhurst and St. Martins School of Art, London. He lived in Mexico for two years and Australia for four years.  His paintings are in private collections worldwide.  He paints mostly commissioned portraits, sports, landscapes and copies of famous paintings.  He has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition; London; Cowdray Park Polo Club; Equus, Newmarket; Tanjah Flandria, Tangiers and Marrakesh; Arden Gallery, Sydney, Somoza Sims Gallery, Houston, USA, and Napier Gallery, Jersey.  He has paintings on permanent exhibition in the World Trade Club, Dubai. Holocaust Museum, Chicago, the Museum of Music, Taiwan and Apothecaries Hall, London.  He also has paintings in the collection of Harlequins FC, Bath Rugby Club and Gleneagles.  He has illustrated books for Octopus and Mitchell Beasley among others.  Drawings have appeared in Readers Digest and Aramco World magazine as well as advertising campaigns for J. Walter Thompson and Saatchi & Saatchi
