S.F. Sorrow ~ Pretty Things ~ SX 6306 Columbia Black/Blue MONO -1/-1 ~ VG/VG/VG
Release Info
The first 'Rock Opera' which sold poorly upon release due to little promotion by E.M.I. in the UK and an awful US release version.
A visionary album which employed many new recording techniques and electronic equipment during its recording at Abbey Road studios
The Columbia Mono version of the album is preferred by the band and is also quite rare nowadays.
This is a quality album pressed on thick heavy weight vinyl with the original black & blue textured label.
A real collectors peice of classic 60’s Psychedelic Rock

EACH record is gently and lovingly cleaned, inspected and played before being graded (unless otherwise stated)
*Please refer to the below guidelines for information about grading
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Vinyl condition: VG
Labels: The labels have a course textured finish found on early pressings. The text is crisp although one or two letters are faded, the black and blue still looks bright. There is some light fading and some light marks.
Spindle hole: Nice and clean
Playing surface: Both sides have a nice luster and are pretty good. Side 1 track 2 has a scratch which produces a gentle click on rotation. Other than that there is feint groove wear in a couple of spots, hairlines and light handling marks
Run Off: Some very very light marks, but nice and shiny
Overall it looks good and is a quality pressing
Sound: VG
This record has been been listened right through;
Side 1 - Tracks 1,3,4 & 5 sound really good. There is very occasional crackle but it is very very light and very occasional
tracks 2 & 6 have a few pops/clicks and some more pronounced crackle throughout the track, but it isn’t completely overpowering.
Its plays VG to EX
Side 2 - Tracks 1-6 the sound is superb with very low noise, great range and depth of sound. There is very occasional crackle but it is very very light and very occasional. Track 7 has a bit of interference for the last 10 or so revolutions otherwise side 2 is very close to NM
Overall a good sound, with some noise but great range and power
Cover, sleeves and insert condition: VG
Spine: The laminate has cracked and there is small white patch. The text is readable and the spine is intact and straight
Seams: Nice and straight and undamaged
Opening: Still straight and in really nice shape
Front Cover: Under light there are some small crescent shaped lifts to the laminate. There are also some crease viens along the Top/bottom seam edges and the spine edge too. A tiny 2 mm ink spot 3 inches to the left of the EMI/Columbia logo. Some light brown staining along the opening edge
Back Cover: Under light there are some small lifts to the laminate. There are also some crease viens along the Top/bottom seam edges and the spine edge too
Gatefold area: A previous owner has written there name on the top right corner. There are some creases to the flip back edges on the bottom. Other than this its pretty tidy
Sleeve: Paper sleeve is creased and discoulered
Overall this record has some defects, but it still sounds great with some minor noise. It has a solid cover which is free from rips and tears.
Due to its rarity this is still highly prized and sought after collectors peice.
