THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE?? In my many years of collecting and selling I've never seen an earlier Matrix for this Prog Monster from King Crimson. Most consider the A2 - B2 Matrix endings as the first pressings which have been proved over the years as the benchmark. Knowing the interest in this record and it's rarity I'm pretty sure that we won't see another for sale in these conditions with a true 1st press matrix endings. It's hard to find info on previous A1 - B1 auctions because there hasn't been that many.  

Vinyl Graded VG++/EX Lots of shine and luster. A very clean and shiny look, A little noise in the dead wax at the start but very warm clean sound from then in. I can only see a just a few tiny scuffs, there are a few light hairlines. Nothing that effects play.

The Labels are clean no writing, a sharp clean pink label which has a matt finish NOT textured!

Cover is graded VG+ some storage ring wear, Heavy wear on the spine (see pics) and around most edges!

Gradings : (*Condition is based on visual and grading) 

Mint - The record is in brand new condition With no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover & any extra items (inserts, etc) are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. 

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging may have slight wear and / or creasing. 

VG+ ---- The record has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully. Not too far from perfect. On a disc, there may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve or the vinyl or some of the original luster may be lost. A slight scratch that did not affect play would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects. 

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, may have some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits,
