Description

Back in 1993, before Oasis became famous, they made about 8 or 9 live demo tapes which they sent to various record companies and/or gave to music producers, in the hope that someone would like their music and give them a record deal.  In about 1996, I was lucky enough to pick up one at Christie's auction for about £150.  The Christie's sticker is till on the case (see photo).  Although it is not signed by the band, it is extremely rare, with as I said, no more than 10 in existance.  There are 8 tracks and one of the songs (Strange Thing) has never been released or featured on any of their albums or singles; not even as a b-side; so it is incredibly rare.  The songs are as follows:

  1. Cloudburst
  2. Columbia
  3. D'yer wanna be a Spaceman?
  4. Strange Thing
  5. Bring it on Down
  6. Married with Children
  7. Fade Away
  8. Rock 'n' Roll Star

There is NO RESERVE!!!!! Just in case it is of any importance to anyone, the tape itself is a Maxell SXII 46 with a tinted oval window cassette shell.  I would appreciate it if the winner could pay me by paypal and I do reserve the right to withdraw the lisitng before the end of the auction should I recieve a higher bid from someone outside of ebay.

On the inside sleeve, it is written: "Recorded Live in Liverpool sometime in '93, for more info: oasis 47 India House 75 Whitworth st, Manchester, M1 6LG. Tel 0612375427. special thanx to Roger Moore and the two Claggies."

The case it came in is slightly cracked (not done by me) but still very usable.  I ve plyed the tape once and the rest of the time it has been lying about my bedrooom.

Dont hesitate to email if you ahve any questions,

many regards,

Seb

I phoned Christies and gave them the lot number (102) and date (04 Sep 1997) and they confirmed they sold the item at their "pop and guitart" memorabilia auction.  It came with no letter of authenticity but with the above info, they can photocopy you the page where the item was listed in their auction booklet.
