Ultra Rare Genuine 1977 Extra Large Virgin Record Shop Exclusive Promo Poster For the Sex Pistols 1977 3rd single release "Pretty Vacant"
Extremely rare opportunity to aquire this almost impossible to find piece of Punk Rock history! overall size is a huge 60" inches x 40" inches. the poster has some very minor creases and various pin holes etc, but overall its in excellent condition, and its a stunning piece of Jamie Reid artwork!
I acquired this rarity from a guy whose girlfriend worked at Virgin Records in Birmingham back in the day, and he had owned it since then. As well as knowing by the paper stock etc that this is an original from the time, I had also actually seen one of these huge Pretty Vacant buses posters around 10 years ago, a framed one was on display in the Virgin Mega Store in Downtown Disney of all places, and I was told back then that it was an original from the UK, but was not for sale. I remember it well because of its extra-large size, and the fact it did not have the VS number along the bottom.
?Iconic Sex Pistols posters such as this one or 'God Save the Queen' with a safety pin through her lip or the torn up Union jack for 'Anarchy in the UK' will always be classics. A lot of these posters are now rightly seen as important statements of the time and have lost none of their relevance especially in today’s political climate.
