NEIL YOUNG "Journey Through The Past" 1973 UK 1st PRESS 2 LPs w/TEXTURED INNERS & DIE CUT G/F - BARELY PLAYED
NEIL YOUNG
Journey Through The Past
(original soundtrack recording - a film by neil young)

ORIGINAL UK REPRISE (K 64015) FIRST PRESSING (January 1973) OF NEIL YOUNG'S DOUBLE LP SOUNDTRACK TO HIS FILM, "Journey Through The Past" - IN SUPERB CONDITION - PROBABLY ONLY BEEN PLAYED A COUPLE OF TIMES
Most soundtrack albums don't really contain the soundtracks to movies as they sound and as they are edited for the screen -- a song heard in a snippet on a car radio in the film, for example, will be presented in its entirety and with good sound on the album. But the soundtrack to Neil Young's fantasy/documentary 'Journey Through the Past' does contain an audio record of what's actually on the screen: songs are cut off or fade out, to be replaced by fragments of something else - a mixture of TV recordings of Buffalo Springfield, live tapes of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, rehearsal footage of the Harvest sessions, and news footage. A fascinating and idiosyncratic document from Neil Young - and a real journey through his past

THE TWO LPs ARE PRESSED ON QUALITY MID/HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL AND HAVE THE FIRST ISSUE TAN AND GROOVED REPRISE LABELS (with no WB logo and 'Made in UK' credit)
FIRST ISSUE MATRICES: K64015 A-2 / K64015 D-2 (record one) and K64015 B-2 / K64015 C-2 (record two) - (Sides One is backed by Side Four, Two by Three)
AND ARE HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL ISSUE FOLD-OUT DIE-CUT GATEFOLD SLEEVE "Printed and made by MacNeill Press Ltd., London, S.E.1"
COMPLETE WITH THE TWO ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVES PRINTED ON SOFT TEXTURED CARD WITH STILLS FROM THE FILM

SIDE ONE:

SIDE TWO:
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young: Southern Man (6:47)

Unknown Artist: Let Me Call You Sweetheart (1:05)
Neil Young / The Stray Gators: Alabama (6:23)

LABELS: The labels are clean, bright and unmarked with just a couple of light spindle traces - this set has seen very little play
VINYL Visual: All surfaces retain their original deep, glossy sheen and are practically unmarked (there is some superficial light 'misting' on the edge of record two, from storage, but this has no audio consequence)
VINYL Audio: The actual recorded quality on the two records varies from track to track depending on which sound source has been used (TV, radio, studio etc.) but the audio delivery is outstanding in every respect. On playback at a loud volume there are no scratches, no sticks/jumps, no surface noise and barely any 'ticks' (really hardly any worth a mention and none which rise above background level - both LPs are very cleanly pressed). A strange LP of bits and pieces which all flow together without a break, but an incredibly impressive construction and it plays beautifully throughout to just about the highest possible standard with great clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion (its hardly been played). Critically graded an EXCELLENT++ for audio this is great copy - practically flawless
SLEEVE: The original fold-out 'pocket' gatefold cover is also in great condition - clean and unmarked with only the lightest of storage wear showing as light ring on the back. The thick spine is straight and true with all text clear and bold - EXCELLENT
INNER SLEEVES: The two inners are NEAR MINT - clean and unmarked with no splits to any of their edges. The LPs are now housed - and will be posted in - two new inner sleeves to avoid any 'knifing' damage to the originals during transit
