Muddy Waters Mississippi Blues EP London RE-U1060
This early 1956 compilation was an opportunity for Muddy Waters fans to get a copy of his then recent hits from the US R&B Singles Chart “Young Fashioned Ways” was written by Willie Dixon and aimed at the emerging white teen market. This original was recorded where most Chess and Checker sessions were held at Universal Recorders on 3 February 1955. The company did not build its own studio until late 1956. Muddy Waters is on vocals/guitar & supported by his “Blues Band”: Little Walter – Harmonica, Jimmy Rogers - guitar, Willie Dixon - double bass, & Francey Clay - drums. This original release was not well received in UK with comparatively few copies of this EP being sold at the time. So it is arguably the most collectable of Muddy Water’s UK-issued records.

SLEEVE VG/ RECORD Ex
This 7 inch 45 RPM EP record is the original UK release. There is no American Chess equivalent. Its condition shows that previous owner[s] took care of it over the ensuing 61 years. The record surfaces retain their original vinyl shine with one superficial mark on Side 2 that does not spoil the listening experience. There is no writing or other marks on the labels. The sleeve has its original lamination on the back and front. The front has an excellent tape repair and a small replaced piece on the bottom right hand corner and the back has 2 small tape marks on its flaps [see pictures]. Hence the low start price.
