Vinyl Condition: V+
Original 1949 78 RPM disk
78 Grading (I use the VJM grading system as a rough guide for my system):
E+ (Comparable to a Goldmine vinyl grade of NM): Like new; clean and shiny with no marks
E (Goldmine EX/VG++): Close to E+; only a few minor imperfections that do not affect play
E- (Goldmine VG+): Light marks, vinyl retains strong luster (visual grade); no repetitive, obtrusive pops or ticks, no audible distortion from groove wear (play grade)
V+ (Goldmine VG): Significant scuffing, marks, and/or scratches, vinyl surface may have lost some of its original luster (visual grade); repetitive pops and ticks may be heard in some passages, an amount of audible groove wear is possible, pressing defects that create some amount of noise are possible, no skips (play grade)
V (Goldmine VG-): Heavy scuffing, marks, scratches, and/or greying likely to cause significant surface noise and/or audible groove wear
V- (Goldmine G+): Placeholder copy; not an enjoyable listening experience

All of my 78s are packaged in a box measuring approximately 12" x 12" x 5". The records are sandwiched between four total cardboard inserts and one layer of bubble wrap all around, which is insulated by packing peanuts or crumpled newspaper.
