Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

                                ..

            .... The NEW DAWN ....

             There's A NEW DAWN

USA - HOOT RECORDS - PRIVATE PRESS

you know what it is ... now's your chance to BID to WIN, a true "heavy" of the psychedelic scene =no reserve price= (!)... deserves to be in all important collections!

Rated by collectors as one of the BEST "psych" Lp's ... any serious collection should more than welcome a copy ... not getting any easier to find (read below why) ... presents both a fantastic collection artifact plus investment item (the few spare copies offered over the past years have continued to rise in value...)

Original 1970 first printing ...Amongst the rarest of USA psych LP's; all but impossible to find.

Hailed as a “Masterpiece of Music” by Pokora, author of the book series, “Record Collector Dreams”.

Initially released in July of 1970, five hundred copies were pressed. Subsequently, auctions on Ebay (for the original vinyl LP) go for $2000. ( copy sold for $2,200 last month on eBay )

The New Dawn’s “There’s A New Dawn” has been hailed as one of the rarest and best psych albums to come out of the late 60s / early 70s. Fuzz guitar, minor-chord organ dirges, tender vocals and monumental bass are the calling cards of this private press gem. Maybe it’s all the rain, but like their Northwest counterparts, The New Tweedy Brothers and The Sonics, The New Dawn helped to establish a regional musical perspective that is hauntingly addictive.

By 1967, The New Dawn were essentially a nightclub band, touring throughout the northwest part of the country, down through California and Nevada, and as far north as Alaskn. The band recorded and released their private press album "There's A New Dawn" in July of 1970.

The songs were composed in the studio and were recorded late at night after gigs. Initially five hundred copies were pressed, but it's estimated that only around 200 may still exist. Many of the records from the pressing were either damaged due to traveling or were warped, and distribution was limited since the album was sold mostly at their live shows.

Their one chance at the big time came in 1971 when the ABC-Dunhill Records label expressed a serious interest in the New Dawns passive aggressive original material. Considering the success ABC-Dunhill had with Steppenwolf, the songs demonstrated what a great fit the band could have been for the label and gave hope into what might have been for The New Dawn.

By the end of 1971, The New Dawn faded into the sunset after years of living motel to motel under the disillusionment of their missed opportunity.

                      Highly sought after by collectors...

CONDITION: The cover: rated: VG++ solid & thick colorful cardboard cover has no more than a 'touch' of wear that is overall minor.  The seams are extremely strong, the structure is 100% flat & square with 4 sharp corners. This 1970 first pressing has been professionally laminated (no seams are visual on front or back cover.) The lamination technique is nothing short of amazing. Overall the cover looks as nice as the photo here

The vinyl: visual rating: near VG++) clean shine with some stray light hair scuffs, nothing deep enough to cause audio problems. Absolutely play graded revealing excellent audio no more than a touch of very low / passive surface noticeable, so very enjoyable from beginning to end.  Both "Hoot" labels are clean

A cool addition to anyone's music library!
