Description

Original 1950s Miles Davis LP entitled, "Kind Of Blue." This is on the Columbia label CS 8163 (original, first STEREO pressing with the '6-eye' label design; labels are also 'deep grooved'). This is also the much rarer, white label promo!! Additional players on this legendary LP are Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, Paul Chambers, James Cobb, John Coltrane, Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly. The front cover has Cannonball Adderley's name misspelled as "Adderly". Both the side two label and the back cover incorrectly list the side two songs in reverse playing order. Grading is as follows:
The vinyl is in beautifully clean, strict VG+ condition with full gloss!! Just a couple faint harmless surface lines on both sides, but certainly no scuff marks on scratches. Side 1 plays with just some very minor, low-level surface noise and a couple minor little quick 'ticks' and 'pops' but certainly nothing prolonged and certainly no skips etc. Side 2 plays even better with really no surface noise at all and just a couple minor little quick 'ticks' and 'pops' but certainly nothing prolonged and certainly no skips etc. I played both sides of the LP with a very sensitive, audiophile Ortofon stylus (tracked at 1.5 grams). There are no spindle marks on either of the labels. This has the -1E and -1K matrix numbering stamped in the trailoff area of sides 1 and 2 respectively. Comes with its original company advert inner sleeve; however, the record is now housed in a brand new, antistatic inner sleeve. This is a very well cared for, well-preserved LP. Original stereo promos of this LP do not come on the market in this type of condition very often nowadays!!
The cover is a very sharp VG+ also and it displays very nicely overall!! There are just a couple very minor faint 'pressure wrinkles' in the bottom-left corner of the front side, a very tiny 'pressure wrinkle' in each of the two bottom corner tips of the back side as well, and just a little very light surface wear mainly to the back side only. No splits, no tears, no large creases, no writing, no stains, no cutout holes, no delete marks, etc. Very solid and attractive cover overall!!

I personally write all of my own descriptions, take all of my own photos, and package all items for mailing myself.  I do not use text, photos or information from “other” sources and would certainly never do so without referencing them. Items pictured in any of my listings are always the actual items that buyers will receive from me.

All of my individual LPs are shipped in professionally-designed, heavy duty cardboard mailers with extra cardboard padding.

Final payment is always expected WITHIN ONE WEEK FROM THE CLOSING DATE OF THE BUYER'S INITIAL PURCHASE. Please don't expect items to be held for more than one week while additional bids are placed. My vinyl and cover/sleeve gradings are as follows:

MINT: I do not use this grade except for sealed/unopened items.

NEAR MINT or MINT MINUS: Vinyl looks basically brand new, untouched, unplayed or nearly unplayed. Cover looks pretty much as new with no real flaws to speak of. This is basically how the item would have looked when it was new from the factory.

VG++: Very close to M-, with vinyl showing only the very slightest, most subtle signs of any past handling or play. Cover may show just the barest hint of wear from age, but nothing at all serious or detracting.

VG+: Vinyl shows some subtle signs that it was played in the past, but was generally well taken care of. Cover shows only some minor signs of age or wear, but nothing too detracting.

VG: Vinyl is beginning to show more obvious signs of past handling and play but still has strong sound quality overall. Cover is beginning to show more signs of age and wear, but is fully intact and still displays very well overall.

GOOD: Vinyl has very obvious signs of wear from over the years, but still plays strongly and enjoyably enough. Cover has obvious wear and tear from age, but is intact and still displayable.

***My very good and good records are very good and good, not bad and even worse! I also do not use the EX (excellent) grading at all.***

FAIR: Record wasn’t properly cared for in the past and very clearly shows it, but it is still playable and should be enjoyable enough for some. I rarely offer records in this condition.
