Grading CDs, Vinyl & Covers is subjective.  Near Mint is NOT PERFECT.  While we have made best efforts to describe each item based on the grading scales below.  Any imperfections that can be discerned from the pictures of the item should guide the buyer more so than my grading. 

PLEASE REVIEW OUR GRADING SCALE BELOW AND COMPARE TO THE PICTURES.  In some instances, I may grade an item between two grades (NM/EX, EX/VG+).  In these cases I believe that the item is closer to the higher grade than the lower grade - and am being conservative in my grading.

MEDIA (CD / VINYL) GRADING SCALE

• SEALED:  Media has not been removed from shrink wrap, disc is sold as is.
• NM (near mint):  NOT PERFECT.  Visually un-played, without material marks, scuffs, or scratches.
• EX (excellent):  Fewer than 3 visible imperfections, only of a cosmetic nature (i.e.  scuffs or other superficial marks) that will likely not affect play.
• VG+ (very good plus):  Minor visible imperfections. These may include  scuffs, superficial marks, & light scratches. A single light scratch is enough for us to grade an otherwise pristine item VG+, but a VG+ item will have no more than a few such scratches.
• VG (very good):  Will show the kinds of imperfections found on VG+ items but in slightly greater number. A VG item  will not bear scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.
• G+ (good plus):  A considerable number of light scratches or just one scratch deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.
• G (good):  Several light scratches and/or scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.

PAPER COVER GRADING SCALE

• SEALED:  Visible cover imperfections and shrink wrap tearing are described in detail, but no other cover grade is assigned.
• NM (near mint):   NOT PERFECT.  Any imperfections, wear, or signs of handling are trivial to a visual inspection.  WILL NOT have cut-out markings such as a cut corner, hole punch, or saw cut.
• EX (excellent):  Displays few superficial imperfections: including very light wear to the corners or seams or minor creases. May have cut-out markings such as a cut corner, hole punch, or saw cut.
• VG+ (very good plus):  Displays some noticeable imperfections or signs of wear & handling that are neither excessively prominent nor numerous: including a split to the seams or spine not exceeding 1" in length, light stains / discoloration, small crease marks, and faint wear (shelf or ring). May have cut-out markings such as a cut corner, hole punch, or saw cut.
• VG (very good):  More pronounced or greater number of imperfections & signs of wear present than a VG+ cover. Splits to the seam or spine will not exceed 5" in length. A large flaw, such as extremely prominent shelf or ring wear, marking, staining, writing, or discoloration will cause an LP cover to receive this grade, as will an appreciable number of minor flaws.
• G+ (good plus):  Several minor imperfections and one or more pronounced flaws such as prominent shelf or ring wear, marking, staining, writing, or discoloration. Splits to the seams or spine will not exceed 8" in length.
• G (good):  Heavy wear and several of the pronounced flaws described above. Splits to the seam or spine may exceed 8" in length. We rarely sell records with covers in this condition.
