     Welp. Here it is... While I have my share of rare, limited and OOP records, this is the Grail of them all in my collection. Up for sale here is a still sealed copy of the very first copy of Metal Massacre 1 on Metal Blade Records, 1982. This is the version with Metallica's first ever recorded track, Hit the Lights with a Jamaican guitarist named Lloyd Grant on lead guitar. I asked Ron McGovney on Twitter what the lineup was for this recording. He said that James actually played bass on this first LP because he (Ron) was stuck at work. So, while Ron is listed as "in the band" he didn't actually play on this track. You can look up his Twitter account to see this tweet. James did Rhythm Guitar, Vocals and Bass, Lars was on drums and Dave Mustaine and Lloyd Grant did the solos.
     This copy of this LP was sold originally at OZ Records (Brian Slagel's first brick and mortar record store he started before Metal Blade Records the label!) You can see part of the $7.95 price sticker still on the album in one of the pics. It is still sealed from the day it sold in 1982. It doesn't get much more rare than this. I rated the sleeve VG+ as there are a few, near 40 year old shelfwear marks and very small crease marks (look at the bottom left corner of pic #3 to see a small corner bend/crease), but other than that, it is in great shape, just look at the pics to see. I've stored it in multiple sleeves since I've owned it. The LP itself obviously has never seen the light of day in almost 4 decades, so I assume it is in NM condition.... If you want the ultimate Metallica collectable from their beginnings, it doesn't get any earlier than this unless you want to buy a High School yearbook from one of the members, lol. Yes, the price is not cheap. I really don't want to part with this tbh. If I do, it has to go to the right buyer who REALLY wants it and understands the significance of this LP. This will also be shipped with signature confirmation that only you the buyer can sign for, not a neighbor or spouse. - I do not rate anything Mint, even if it's brand new. I don't think anything qualifies that high of a rating. NM is the highest rating I will give an LP and it has to be absolutely immaculate to receive that rating.- That being said, I have a LOT of LPs that were shipped to me without shrinkwrap/ not sealed. They are brand new, but not sealed. They have never been played and only taken out of their sleeves to photograph. I will note this in the description. If you know anything about metal LPs from companies like HHR or NWN ect, they do NOT ship sealed LPs. They ship them unsealed to prevent ringwear on the LP cover. No returns will be made because your LP is not sealed. Please read description fully before purchase, thx!
- All photos I post are of the actual LP(s) you will receive unless noted in description above.
- All LPs will be shipped extremely secure in official sturdy cardboard mailers and every LP will come with at least one plastic sleeve, some may come with more as needed.
- Unless very special circumstances present themselves, all LPs will be shipped USPS Priority. I may add signature confirmation and such for higher priced items.

- All LPs come from a climate controlled, non smoking home. Some of these LPs have been with me for over 25 years and I have NEVER lived in a house where someone smokes inside. I also live in AZ, a dry climate which is very good for LPs!
