Description
Up for bid is a 1982 promotional copy of Metal Massacre Volume 1. This is the 2nd Pressing on Metal Blade Records manufactured by JEM Records of South Plainfield NJ.
This is also Metallicas first recording with Dave Mustaine and Metallicas first appearance/single on vinyl!
Also included on the album is: Black n Blue, Ratt, Bitch, Avatar, Cirith Ungol, Demon Flight, Pandemonium, and Malice (2 songs).
The record is a promotional copy, so it has a small piece cut out of the right side upper corner of the cover. (See pics)
The 2nd pressing has the silver front cover that just says Metal Massacre and the label is listed as Metalworks Records on the back, licensed from Metal Blade. The labels are a silver and black simple typeset like the first press.
The Ratt and Black and Blue songs are included, and the Steeler song is gone. There is also a Canadian pressing that is the same as the2nd pressing. "The New Heavy Metal Revue" was Brian Slagels', Metal Blades founder’s fanzine.
