Description

A superb and very rare copy of the English music magazine 'Music For All' from 1926, featuring the famed all black American revue 'The Blackbirds' starring Florence Mills and with a unique colour illustration of Florence Mills on the cover! Inside there are 24 photos of the cast, including Florence Mills, blues singer Edith Wilson, comedian Johnny Hudgins, the Three Eddies and the chorus girls, including several scene shots taken on stage! Also included is a great critique of the show and Florence Mills and the music for several songs from the show - 'Smilin' Joe,' Arabella's Wedding Day,' Be Happy,' Silver Rose,' Levee Gang' and 'The Hotten Trot,' as well as other songs not from the show. 52 pages + cover. Only the second copy I've ever seen of this highly desirable item! CONDITION: Very Good. A mark on the front cover has stained onto the first text page (doesn't affect a picture or text).
