I use the record collector grading system of Bad / Poor / Good (G) / Very Good / Excellent / Mint.
Please see below for grading details.
I also use a + or a - for grades that I consider slightly better or worse.
A VG disc on this site will not be is nasty condition like many sellers.
All records are sent out in plastic covers.
MARC BOLAN.
THE THIRD DEGREE / SAN FRANCISCO POET.
ORIGINAL UK 1966 DECCA 7" SINGLE - F.12413.
This was Marc Bolan`s 2nd record.
This is the far rarer stock example, the demo pressings are more common!
This record as a stock issue only turns up for sale once in a blue moon and is a gap in most Bolan collections.
This disc is so rare is has never been sold on Discogs as a stock copy!
A very marked example sold for £1040 on Ebay in 2022, This was the last stock copy seen for sale.
The Record / VG+ condition. The disc has a nice gloss when graded under halogen bulb. The disc has some light surface wear and a few light marks that are mainly on the B side. The disc has no deep or bad marks and is still clean.
The disc plays well with no skips or jumps, the intros plus the end of both sides have some surface crackle on the quiet moments. Both tunes sound fine. I will give a play grade of VG+ condition. The record was not played for some years as it was my late husbands who was a top end Bolan collector. Please see my feedback.
The Labels / EX condition. Both labels are in great condition.
The Cover / VG+ condition. Original Decca cover in decent strong condition. .................................................................................
I USE THE UK GRADING SYSTEM BELOW.
Mint - as new and in perfect condition.
Excellent - A real nice example with light wear only. An EX disc will play great and the cover will be very nice too.
Very Good - The disc will have light surface wear and some light marks. The record will still play very well but may have some surface sound and a little crackle as this is graded as VG. The cover will have some creasing and storage age wear. The disc and cover will have no very serious faults. A VG disc and cover will also not be perfect!
Good / G condition - The disc will have very visible surface wear and light marks with some deeper marks. The cover will show much age wear and will not be the best example! The record will still play but will have surface sound and ticks etc.
Fair - This will be a tatty example of both disc and cover. The record will play with surface sound and noise. The cover will look tatty from age and storage wear.
Bad / Poor -This will be a badly worn example of both record and cover. The disc may jump or play with much surface sound. I would rarely sell an item like this.
